VECTRA 2.2.10 — NOTE DNA Structural Expansion + Preset Stability
NOTE DNA - Even more powerful than before
VECTRA 2.2.10 — NOTE DNA Structural Expansion + Preset Stability
VECTRA 2.2.10 substantially expands NOTE DNA, adding per-note control over structural synth states alongside the continuous parameter Locks already available.
This release also fixes an important preset-loading issue affecting some presets created with the new discrete NOTE DNA states and strengthens VECTRA’s preset save/load safeguards.
Major — NOTE DNA now supports structural states
NOTE DNA can now store much more than continuous parameter differences.
Individual notes can carry discrete sound-state decisions such as oscillator waves, operating modes, Grainfield states, filter structure and envelope modes.
The NOTE DNA target system has expanded from 164 to 200 supported targets.
New per-note structural targets include:
- Oscillator 1 & 2 Wave
- Oscillator 1 & 2 Unison Mode
- Oscillator 1 & 2 Warp Mode
- Sub Oscillator Wave
- Sample Mode
- Sample Reverse
- Grainfield Enable
- Grain Direction
- Grain Window
- Grain Freeze
- Filter Character
- Filter Routing
- Filter Link
- Amp Envelope Mode
- Filter Envelope Mode
- Mod Envelope 1 & 2 Mode
- MSEG Loop states
- MSEG Rate Sync states
- Delta Wave
- Oscillator Sync Mode
This allows different notes inside a single preset to use genuinely different synth structures — not only different parameter values.
Improved — NOTE DNA WRITE
NOTE DNA WRITE now supports compatible discrete and structural controls directly from VECTRA’s main interface.
Changing a supported selector while WRITE is active can create the corresponding per-note structural Lock without changing the global parent state.
This extends direct NOTE DNA capture across oscillator, sample, Grainfield, filter, envelope, MSEG, Delta and sync controls.
Improved — NOTE DNA Full Panel
The Full Panel now understands discrete NOTE DNA states natively.
Structural Locks are presented using their actual musical names and choices instead of continuous-value representations, making per-note structural editing clearer and faster.
Dormant structural Locks can remain visible and editable where appropriate, allowing Note States to survive temporarily inactive parent configurations.
Improved — NOTE DNA interaction and presentation
Several parts of the NOTE DNA workflow have been refined for faster use and clearer feedback.
- Discrete effective values now display their real semantic names.
- Unison and Filter Character states use proper named presentation.
- Single left-click on the NOTE DNA header control toggles WRITE immediately.
- Double-click opens the full NOTE DNA panel while preserving the intended WRITE state.
- Right-click behavior remains unchanged.
- Jump To Control behavior has been cleaned up so successful navigation no longer leaves unnecessary status feedback.
- Structural control behavior has been tightened across Quick Write and the Full Panel.
Fixed — NOTE DNA preset loading
Fixed an important serialization compatibility issue that could prevent presets containing certain discrete NOTE DNA Locks from loading correctly after being saved.
This affected structural NOTE DNA states such as oscillator-wave Locks.
The preset data itself was generally still intact. VECTRA 2.2.10 restores compatibility with these saved states while continuing to reject malformed or invalid data.
If a preset saved in an earlier build became unloadable after using NOTE DNA, keep the preset file. VECTRA 2.2.10 may restore it without loss of the stored sound state.
Improved — preset persistence safety
Preset saving and loading has received additional defensive validation.
- Preset state is validated before saving.
- Saved state is checked again after serialization.
- Existing presets are protected from replacement when validation fails.
- Duplicate parameter-state entries are detected.
- Known-invalid preset states can be identified more reliably.
- Load failures now provide more accurate internal diagnostics.
These changes are designed to make preset handling more robust and make future problems easier to identify before user data is affected.
Regression protection
Dedicated regression coverage has been added for NOTE DNA discrete-state persistence, malformed-state rejection, continuous NOTE DNA compatibility and safe preset overwriting.
