VECTRA - The Living Synthesizer

Installation Guide

VECTRA: INSTALLATION & SETUP GUIDE

Welcome to the Vanguard.

Because you are accessing the Public Beta, there is no automated installer. You have been given the raw binary files for maximum control. Follow these steps exactly to ensure the synth loads correctly.

PART 1: INSTALLING THE PLUGIN (VST3)

Your download contains a folder (or a zip file) named VECTRA.vst3.
IMPORTANT: On Windows, a .vst3 file is actually a folder. You must move the entire folder, not just the files inside it.

Step-by-Step:

  1. Navigate to your download location.

  2. Locate the folder named VECTRA.vst3. (If it is inside a ZIP file, extract the ZIP first).

  3. Copy the VECTRA.vst3 folder.

  4. Paste it into your system’s VST3 directory.

Default Windows Path:
C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3\

Your final path should look like this:
C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3\VECTRA.vst3\

DAW-Specific Instructions:

  • Ableton Live:

    • Open Preferences > Plug-Ins.

    • Ensure “Use VST3 Plug-In System Folders” is ON.

    • Click “Rescan.”

  • FL Studio:

    • Go to Options > Manage Plugins.

    • Click “Find installed plugins” (Ensure “Verify plugins” is checked for best results).

    • Vectra should appear in yellow.

  • Cubase:

    • Cubase usually auto-scans on launch.

    • If not found, go to Studio > VST Plug-in Manager > Rescan.

  • Bitwig/Studio One:

    • These DAWs will automatically detect the file upon launch if it is in the correct folder.

PART 2: THE STANDALONE APP & VECTRAFORGE

The Standalone Application does not need to be installed in a specific system folder.

  1. Move the Vectra Standalone folder to a safe place on your drive (e.g., C:\Program Files\Vorman Labs\ or your Documents folder).

  2. Right-click the Vectra.exe file and choose “Create Shortcut.”

  3. Drag the shortcut to your Desktop for easy access.

PART 3: PRESETS & USER DATA (Where is my stuff?)

VECTRA stores your custom presets, settings, and license key in your User AppData folder. If you need to back up your patches or manually install third-party banks, this is where they go.

Location:
C:\Users\[YOUR_NAME]\AppData\Roaming\VECTRA\

How to find this quickly:

  1. Press the Windows Key + R on your keyboard.

  2. Type: %appdata%

  3. Press Enter.

  4. Find the VECTRA folder.
