VECTRA 2.1.7 — Release Notes
Release date: September 9, 2026
New: GRAINFIELD (VECTRA Deluxe)
VECTRA’s Sample oscillator now has a granular mode. GRAINFIELD isn’t a new engine or a separate plugin — it’s what your Sample oscillator becomes when you stop playing a sample back and start living inside it.
- CLASSIC / GRAIN switch — a single control on the Sample oscillator toggles between normal playback and granular mode, using the exact same loaded sample. No reloading, no separate asset workflow.
- Grain Field view — a live visualization where the waveform is the source, your focus window shows exactly where grains are being pulled from, and the moving grains on screen are real engine telemetry (actual position, size and pan) — not a decorative animation.
- Primary controls: Position, Scan, Size, Density, Coherence.
- Secondary controls: Spray, Pitch Spread, Direction, Window, Stereo Field, Anchor, Freeze, Seed.
- Anchor — grains gravitate toward real transients detected in your source, so rhythmic material stays rhythmic even at high grain density.
- Freeze — lock the read position and turn any single instant of a sample into an infinite, evolving texture.
- Deterministic engine — grain behavior is fully reproducible: the same Seed and parameter values always produce the same texture.
- Full modulation matrix integration — every GRAINFIELD parameter is a first-class Living Matrix destination alongside every other VECTRA parameter (LFOs, envelopes, macros).
- Compact oscillator view — the SampleHex in the oscillator bay now includes a Grain Position control and GRN indicator when GRAINFIELD is active.
GRAINFIELD is included with VECTRA Deluxe. VECTRA Free and Standard continue to use CLASSIC Sample playback.
Notes
- Classic Sample playback is unchanged — DSP, unison and source publication behavior are byte-identical to 2.1.6.
- Licensing/entitlement reliability improvements.
