Per-note sound states.

A synthesizer preset normally has one state shared by every note.

Note DNA changes that.

With Note DNA, individual MIDI notes inside the same VECTRA preset can carry their own parameter differences. One key can be darker, another brighter. One note can use a different oscillator balance, filter setting, envelope response or modulation setup—while the underlying preset remains the same.

The result is not another sequencer or modulation lane. It is a new layer of instrument design: sound state attached directly to the note itself.

Play a note. Change the sound. Keep the difference.

The Quick Write workflow is intentionally immediate:

Arm Note DNA → select or play a note → adjust a parameter.

VECTRA records the change for that note. Play another note and create a different state.

Note DNA supports up to 16 parameter Locks per MIDI note, across the full MIDI note range, while preserving the original preset as the parent sound.

Relative or absolute behavior

Locks can describe a change relative to the parent preset or store an absolute parameter value.

That means Note DNA can be used for anything from subtle variation to radically different timbres across the keyboard.

Designed for performance, not just programming

Note DNA can turn a single VECTRA preset into:

• a multi-character bass instrument across different registers;
• a keyboard where selected notes introduce timbral accents;
• melodic patches with note-specific movement;
• percussion and FX layouts inside one preset;
• evolving sequences where pitch and timbre are structurally connected;
• performance patches that react differently depending on exactly which note is played.

And because Note DNA sits inside VECTRA's synthesis architecture, the note-specific state still participates in the normal modulation and DSP signal path.

Use Quick Write when you want to work directly from the keyboard.

Open the Note DNA panel when you want a complete view of the note map, stored Locks and their behavior.

Both workflows operate on the same underlying Note DNA state.
