VECTRA
VECTRA 1.8.0
VECTRA's most precise modulation and workflow update yet.
Hear the sound. See the result. Stay in control.
VECTRA 1.8.0 brings consistent modulation depth, accurate native readouts, full undo/redo coverage and a more open Forge workflow, helping producers shape complex sounds faster with clearer feedback.
If you only read three lines.
Built to make VECTRA easier to understand, faster to shape and more rewarding to explore.
Modulation feels more consistent across the instrument.
Dial modulation with clearer feedback across oscillator, filter, FX and macro destinations.
Real-time values at the point of control.
See the actual musical result in context while shaping a synth, dialing an FX chain or testing modulation depth.
Forge is easier to enter and easier to share.
More users can explore, contribute and experience the VECTRA ecosystem from the free tier onward.
Rebuilt from the foundation.
Vectra's modulation system now uses a shared internal model across DSP, UI, readouts and preset operations. Full route depth is easier to understand and behaves more consistently across destinations.
- Consistent modulation across cutoff, oscillator pitch, oscillator mix, resonance, pulse width, sustain, Delta Ratio, FM depth and Maelstrom destinations.
- Cleaner route activity handling means modulation depth behaves as an amount, with full negative −100% travel reachable on every destination.
- A unified depth law across the synth gives sound designers clearer results and fewer exceptions.
Exact values while you work.
Less guesswork. The new readout system shows the actual musical result while you move a knob, drag a modulation arc or preview a target. That means faster decisions, cleaner learning and clearer control.
Three modes are available from the header menu: Native for the new VECTRA cards, Legacy for classic tooltip behaviour, and Off when you want a minimal view.
Accurate readouts in real production context.
These screens show the readout system in real production context: clearer values, faster decisions and better feedback while designing sounds.
Free Forge send. Full reversibility.
The update is not only about sound generation. It also helps users explore faster, commit decisions more easily and stay in the creative flow longer.
Now free for all users.
Create with Forge presets and contribute back to the community from the free tier. This is now part of the standard VECTRA entry workflow.
Full instrument coverage.
Envelope edits, MSEG, Forge state, Maelstrom FX changes, modulation routing and knob movement are now covered.
Bioformant Tensor.
The newest DNA molecule arriving in Forge uses tensor-based DNA structures for a new class of timbral motion.
A clearer, more controlled VECTRA workflow.
Beyond the changelog bullets, these screens show the practical result: a premium instrument with clearer feedback, deeper exploration and stronger hands-on control.
Focused fixes after the freemium launch.
A concentrated pass on edge cases, regressions and crash points surfaced by real beta usage.
Structural work, not cosmetic patching.
The freemium launch surfaced things that needed structural work, not patches. The modulation system had grown without a central shared model. Each destination interpreted modulation amounts differently, and full route depth did not always produce the full musical result.
The result is a more coherent modulation workflow, plus a readout system that gives the precision a professional instrument should provide.
Thank you to the beta community for the feedback that drove this update.
